Plant a Row for The Hungry

VPC Landscape Construction takes tremendous pride in our participation in the national Plant-A-Row for the Hungry program. The Plant-A-Row for the Hungry program is sponsored by the Garden Writers Association.

Please help!! It’s a very simple program really. All that is involved is growing a little extra when you plant your vegetable garden and donating the surplus to the emergency food distribution bank or soup kitchen near you. The produce is weighed and you receive a receipt for your charitable contribution.

Participating in Loudoun County – FeedLoudoun.Org

In 2009, VPC’s owner (Julia Brizendine) formed the Feed Loudoun Plant-A Row program to organize and encourage local residents to plant an extra row and deliver fresh produce to the food pantry at Loudoun Interfaith Relief in Leesburg, Virginia. They assist Loudoun’s hungry by providing the food necessary to prepare three balanced meals a day for three days for any size family and the need continues to grow.

To date the volunteers of FeedLoudoun Plant a Row had donated over 90,000 pounds of fresh produce!

Please visit the FeedLoudoun.org website to learn more about our local program and how you can get involved.
